Tom Brady excused from Buccaneers training over ‘personal matter’

Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback Tom Brady was released from practice today due to a personal matter. This sent social media into a meltdown as fans thought something was a little fishy.

His absence came days after the Dolphins were disciplined by the NFL for tampering, which included talking to Brady on two separate occasions. Apparently they spoke to him once when he was a patriot. The other time happened when he was a privateer.

Many believed the quarterback’s absence had something to do with it. The 45-year-old will reportedly not face any fines for his involvement with the dolphins.

Just to put out a fire: Tom Brady was taken off training today to attend to a personal matter.

However, several NFL insiders were quick to put out that fire. Turns out he had a personal matter that caused him to miss practice.

It was the second time this week that the quarterback missed a practice session. Brady had a rest day on Wednesday. Tampa Bay did not hold a practice Thursday. The seven-time Super Bowl champion was absent on Friday.

For someone who absolutely loves to practice, it seems strange to miss so much time. Since we don’t know what his personal business is (nor should we), keeping him away from the team for so long must be something of some significance.

After being tied at home against the LA Rams from the playoffs last season, the Buccaneers go into the new NFL season with something to prove. After winning the Super Bowl in 2020, Tampa Bay was unable to return for the league’s penultimate game last year.

In 2022, this feat could prove quite difficult. Tampa Bay is struggling with injuries. Most notable is center Ryan Jensen along with Chris Godwin, who is still on the comeback path after his ACL injury. There will also be no Rob Gronkowski for Brady.

Still, many pundits have the Buccaneers near the top of Super Bowl calculations simply because of the 45-year-old. The team have signed Julio Jones and the former Falcons and Titans receiver has by all accounts looked sensational in practice so far.

A team with Tom Brady is always Super Bowl or bust. That’s certainly the feeling going into the new season. With a new head coach in Todd Bowles and a few different offensive figures, Tampa Bay is a little unknown on the offensive side of the ball.
