Thai, gizmology – OPPO Indonesia is indeed preparing the latest generation of OPPO Reno8 series and is slowly showing its superior characteristics. Unlike in Thailand, however, the OPPO Reno8 Z 5G was actually inaugurated. And the same as before, so a cheaper alternative that supports 5G networks.
Viewed from the official website, OPPO Thailand offers three different variants that all support 5G networks. Besides the OPPO Reno8 Z 5G, there is also Reno8 5G and Reno8 Pro 5G. So far, OPPO Indonesia has not announced how many variants and the same will be officially present. Will there be a 4G version or not?

As the successor of the Reno7 Z 5G, the OPPO Reno8 Z 5G does not bring much difference. Even in the paper specs, it’s still exactly the same for the combination of hardware that’s being carried. The visible differences are in the design – especially in the reversing camera module, as well as the introduced color variants.
Got a slightly different camera design
When the Reno8 5G & Pro 5G come out with a camera module protruding from the upper left side of the rear case, the design of the OPPO Reno8 Z 5G rear camera combines old and new designs. The area around the camera gets a slightly different color finish and is now more intact from the left and top edges.
One of the main selling points is still carried, namely Dual Orbit Lights, which can replace old smartphone LED lights for notifications. OPPO Reno8 Z 5G comes in a new color, Dawnlight Gold, which combines gold and gradient colors. The rear glass material is stated to have a thickness of 0.5mm, with a body thickness of 7.6mm and a weight of 181 grams.
As usual, OPPO smartphones are always tested for hardware quality before actually releasing them to the public. Including the OPPO Reno8 Z 5G, which successfully passed the drop test 28,000 times, the power button 500,000 times, up to two weeks of use in extreme temperatures. Unfortunately without IP rating certification like the OPPO A series.
Cheap OPPO Reno8 Z 5G price
Then what about the hardware aspect? The OPPO Reno8 Z 5G screen has dimensions of 6.43 inches with a 60Hz AMOLED panel, accompanied by a 16MP punch-hole camera and an in-display fingerprint sensor. It supports HD resolution streaming from major platforms as well as an eye-care display to make it easier on the eyes.
Everything is still the same in the camera area, performance and battery. OPPO Reno8 Z 5G is powered by the Snapdragon 695 5G chip with 8GB of RAM, 128GB of internal storage and a 5,000mAh battery that supports 33W fast charging. The rear camera setup also features three sensors accompanied by an LED light.
In addition to the main 64-megapixel sensor, the second one next to it is just a 2-megapixel depth sensor, as well as a small sensor to capture moments as close as 4cm, aka macro. The ColorOS version brought by the manufacturer is new, which is already version 12.1 based on Android 12. Of course, users of the OPPO Reno7 Z 5G will also receive the same update.
OPPO Thailand itself opens pre-orders on August 14th. The price of the OPPO Reno8 Z 5G is 12,990 THB or around 5.4 million rupees. In Indonesia alone, the OPPO Reno7 Z 5G will be sold for 5,999 million rupees.
