Liverpool gem Jurgen Klopp, 20, loves to score miracle goals on his debut for the loan club

Liverpool jewel Leighton Clarkson made his Aberdeen debut today after signing a season-long loan for the Scottish side.

Within just 45 minutes of the 20-year-old’s debut, he had already won the hearts of fans.

What’s the matter?

Well, Clarkson gave Aberdeen a 3-0 lead against St Mirren just before half-time with a powerful long-range shot.

What a way to introduce yourself – Clarkson will remember it for a long time.

However, for those of you paying close attention to Kirkby’s best, his punch won’t surprise you.

Jurgen Klopp has already called the youngster a phenomenal talent, claiming that fans “can’t imagine” how good he really is after his Champions League debut.

The German said: “It was a really good game for a boy in his age group. You can’t imagine how much better he is than he showed tonight.”

Jordan Henderson has also sung the praises of Clarkson after the midfielder impressed while training with the first-team at the AXA training centre.

Speaking of Rhys Williams and Clarkson, the Liverpool club captain is quoted as saying: “I can tell you when I see them in training they both took a lot of positives from their absence. Both seem to have matured because they were in a different environment and faced different challenges.”

Leighton Clarkson has a chance at Liverpool

Nobody can deny that Liverpool’s midfield options are pretty weak at the moment.

Thiago suffered what Klopp describes as a “severe hamstring” during the 2-2 draw with Fulham, while Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain also had a serious hamstring problem.

So should Clarkson continue to take Scotland by storm, Klopp could decide to include him in his options for the 2023/24 season.

He has already established himself as a manager who trusts young players such as Trent Alexander-Arnold, Harvey Elliott, Curtis Jones and Fabio Carvalho.

Clarkson could be the next prospect to shine at Anfield thanks to his goal against St Mirren.
