Actress Anne Heche critical after crashing into house by car and setting fire – NEWSLY

Anne Heche crashed her Mini Cooper into a condominium garage on Friday, sped away when residents tried to help her and then crashed into a nearby home, starting a destructive fire that punctuated the “Six days, seven Nights” actress ended up in hospital with severe burns, TMZ reported.

Photos posted to TMZ appear to show Heche in the moments immediately following the garage mishap, with what appears to be a bottle of alcohol in the cup holder. The site says apartment dwellers showed up to help her out of her car, but she reversed, sped away and shortly after crashed into a house in Mar Vista’s West Side neighborhood.

Other photos show Heche’s damaged and charred vehicle; Firefighters fight the burning roof of the house; and a stretcher being loaded into an ambulance. TMZ says Heche, who is wrapped in a white sheet, “suddenly sat on the stretcher and thrashed wildly as they loaded her into the ambulance.”

TMZ didn’t report the extent of Heche’s injuries, but said she was taken to the hospital “but is expected to live.”

“We really had a multifaceted incident here,” LAFD Captain Erik Scott told KTLA. “We had a serious traffic accident, we had a woman trapped in it, we had a car that caught fire and then we had a house where there was a serious fire that was marked in red. It is destroyed at this point.”

TheWrap contacted the LAPD and LAFD, who did not have an immediate update. A Heche representative did not immediately respond to the messages left Friday.
